Board Update

Good Afternoon:

Last week the school district’s 5-year Strategic Plan was unveiled which outlines six goals that the district has set. They are, improve community engagement, student achievement, communications between the school and community, facilities, financials and collaboration efforts between staff members. The School Board will vote on approving this plan at our May 10th Regular Board Meeting.

As one of your representatives on the North Royalton School Board, I am currently working hard to review this very important document which will help set the course of the next 5 years for our district. However, before I cast my vote in May I would like to get your input on this. Attached is a draft copy of the North Royalton School District’s Strategic Plan.

They discussed key issues that effect educational funding here in Ohio and the new Evidence Based Model. There was a good question and answer session with key lawmakers about current legislation being introduced in Columbus. While in Columbus I took the time to meet with our representatives in the Ohio General Assembly in both the House and Senate. I was able to pass along concerns regarding current legislation such as HB 400, SB 8, HB 373, and other education related issues.
