Board Update

Good Afternoon:

I just want to wish you all a Happy Easter! Also please keep in your thoughts and prayers all those in our community currently serving both here and overseas in the United States Military on this Easter Sunday.

LAST WEEK IN YOUR SCHOOL BOARD

On March 30th I attended the Ohio School Board Association’s Management Development Series Workshop down in Columbus. The workshop was extremely informative in covering key topics of administrator salaries, retirement incentives, and current trends in the state of Ohio.

I attended the second SCENE (School Community Exchange Night for Education) held on March 31st at the Early Childhood Center hosted by Early Childhood Center Principal Julie Bogden and Superintendent Ed Vittardi. It was nice hearing about some highlights of the ECC and a district update. These evenings are a great opportunity to provide an informal opportunity for members of the community to share observations and to ask questions about our school district. The district plans to continue this great two-way communication with our school community in the months to come.

Absentee Voting Has Begun
Just a reminder that the North Royalton School District has a renewal levy on the
May 4, 2010 ballot. This renewal levy WILL NOT increase taxes and passage is vital to allow our district to maintain current programs and services. This levy is a combination of two issues, the first of which was passed in 1990 and was last renewed in 2005. The levy will continue to raise $6,695,000 annually. Please vote YES on issue 8!
