Ward 3 Quick Update: April 27, 2018

Ward 3 Resident,

The opioid epidemic is something we are battling throughout our country, state, county, and even here in our own community. Often folks get addicted first to left over pain medication that were legally prescribed to them. This weekend you can help make a difference in the fight against the opioid or drug epidemic by safely disposing your unused medications at this weekend’s Medication Take Back Day this Saturday. See flyer below for more information. If you are unable to make the event, the North Royalton Police Station has a Medication Drop Off Box in their lobby where you can also safety dispose your unused medications 24/7 at your own convenience too. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help make a difference with this important issue!

Have a great weekend!

Ward 3 Quick Update July 18, 2015

Ward 3 Resident,

Just wanted to give you a quick update on a few things.

Ditch Maintenance Reminder
With our unseasonably rainy summer it is important to remind you of the importance of ditch maintenance. If you have a roadway drainage ditch on your property that contains debris (brush, leaves, sticks, debris, etc.) has filled itself in and/or has severely eroded, does not function properly, the driveway culvert pipe is fully or partially blocked, or if the ditch has become overgrown with natural vegetation. These conditions will obstruct storm water flow through this ditch system during significant rain events. These obstructions can cause upstream rear flooding and possible flood damage to other properties nearby. Section 1022.05(a) of the Codified Ordinances of North Royalton, Ohio states the following: ”It is the responsibility of the property owner to keep said ditch, culvert, sewer, natural watercourse or other watercourse free from all debris, vegetation, etc., so as not to impede the drainage of water”. Please remember to keep debris, logs, sticks, leaves (especially during the Fall season), grass clippings, small trees and brush from within the limits of the ditch. This can mostly be accomplished by hand with use of small tools and equipment and bagging the yard wastes for curb pick-up. Also here are some helpful phone numbers to call if you have any storm water or sanitary issues to report:

Service Department
440-582-3002

Waste Water Department
440-237-5010

Ward 3 Quick Update June 26, 2015

Ward 3 Resident,

Just wanted to give you a quick update before we officially start off the weekend.

Heavy Rains Expected this Weekend
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch beginning tonight at 8 p.m. and continuing until 4 a.m. Sunday. This is all due due to an unseasonably strong storm that could result in 2 to 4 inches of rainfall. Just wanted to share that Mayor will be having the North Royalton Service Department and Wastewater Departments working 24/7 during this weekend’s expected storm. Service department employees will be working throughout the city in an effort to prevent debris blockage in catch basins, culverts and streams. Just a reminder that you as residents can also do your part by inspecting and cleaning swales, ditches and sewer grates on your property. Your help and cooperation is appreciated!

Here are some helpful phone numbers just in case you have any issues to report:

Service Department
440-582-3002

Waste Water Department
440-237-5010
