Santa on Wheels

Since COVID-19 has canceled a lot of the normal Christmas fun here in North Royalton. Like the annual Christmas Parade and Lighting Ceremony where Santa comes to make a brief visit for the kids before his big day the 25th! So a few of Santa’s elves got together and are bringing Santa to visit the kids of North Royalton in their neighborhoods this year. They can also get a social distant photo with Santa too! (Map and list of neighborhoods of Santa’s route coming soon) Special thank you to Carbone-McDonald Family, Langshaw Family, Royalton Gifts, Peeboo & Beanie Gourmet Ice cream, Beyond Words: Music & Dance Center, Generations Antiques and More for making this happen! #SantaOnWheelsNR

WARD 3 MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER: DECEMBER 2013

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

It is hard to believe today is Christmas Eve and then a few days later it will be New Years Eve. Reflecting on the past year, it has been a humbling and amazing experience serving as your councilman since March. Many of you may not know this, but I track all casework that I do when a resident requests assistance from me regarding various issues within our ward. For 2013, I have assisted over 100 residents with various issues dealing with storm water, abandoned homes, safety, road repair, and more. I have spoken with countless number of residents by phone or e-mail. I have also personally met with over 2,000 residents either by going door to door throughout the ward, attending homeowner/condominium association meetings, my monthly constituent coffees, neighborhood block parties, and various community events. I am excited for what 2014 has in store for our city and Ward 3. There are great things going on here in North Royalton! Starting next year I plan on working to expand the level of constituent service and engagement with residents here in ward 3. In early spring I will announce some of the ways I plan to accomplish that. In addition I have already begun working on addressing some long standing issues within our ward that have not been fully resolved and will work to continue to build upon the progress that has been made this year.

SINCE MY LAST SCHOOL BOARD UPDATE

Passing of Harry Loder
Former North Royalton Mayor Harry E. Loder died recently on Nov. 20. He was 87. A life-long resident of North Royalton, Loder was mayor from 1971-79 after serving as a councilman and council president. As Mayor, Loder started the Emergency Rescue Services, the Office on Aging Department and helped the city get its first lighted baseball field at York Road. In 1952, Loder opened Loder’s Shake Shoppe, which has remained a favorite spot in North Royalton. He also drove a bus for North Royalton City Schools for 10 years. When I started my run for School Board back in 2009 I got a chance to meet Harry when I knocked on his door while campaigning. He invited me in and I had a chance to sit down in his kitchen of his home off of Boston road. I enjoyed listening to all his advice on public service and the history of our city and school district. He will be missed and my condolences go out to his family on their loss. If you like to learn more about Harry the Sun Newspaper did a nice story about him. Here is the link below:
