Ward 3 Quick Update November 23, 2014

Ward 3 Resident,

Just wanted to give you a quick update on some important items and upcoming events before the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Resident Feedback Needed for Online Sidewalk Survey
On November 6th, representatives from Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) gave a presentation at North Royalton City Hall pertaining to the North Royalton Alternative Transportation Plan. At the end of the presentation, they distributed a survey and asked that residents complete the survey and return to NOACA. The results of the survey will assist in determining priority improvements in the city, including sidewalks. If you were unable to attend the meeting and would like to participate in the survey study, please Click Here to complete the survey. Please also share with your friends, neighbors throughout our ward, and the whole city to participate too by giving them the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NRTransSurvey

Ward 3 E-Newsletter: July 2014

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

July 4th marks the 238th birthday for our nation. For generations we as Americans have been blessed to live freely. It is easy to forget sometimes the true meaning behind Independence Day. Abraham Lincoln said it best “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth”. A big reason why we are a free and great nation is because of the sacrifices made by our brave men and woman in the US Military. So for the upcoming holiday weekend if you see a veteran or a service member in uniform, thank them for their service. I wish you and your family a safe and fun holiday!

Ward 3 E-Newsletter: June 2014

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

May 12th Storm Clean Up
Since the May 12th Storm I continue to remain very busy in the ward getting residents assistance and touring areas of concern. I continue to make requests to both the Service and Waste Water Departments about various areas of concern here in our ward that they will check out when possible. City crews continue to work hard in clearing remaining storm debris and addressing the most urgent storm water issues in our ward and city. Please remain patient as they have much work to do on an already long list of projects. The city is still working with County, State, and Federal Government to seek additional assistance. If you did experience damage from the storm here are three links for programs offered by the County, State, and Federal Government that you may find helpful:

Ward 3 Quick Update May 20, 2014

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

Based on numerous calls and emails from residents the last few days. I just wanted to provide some additional information. Also feel free to share with your neighbors who may not get my updates.

May 12th Storm Clean Up
I have toured the entire ward and visited with many residents impacted by the historic flash flood we had last week. In addition, I have been working to get residents connected with the right resources for clean up and other assistance. City crews are still working to clear debris and assisting residents. I have sent letters and emails to United States Senator Sherrod Brown, Governor John Kasich, State Representative Mike Dovilla, and State Senator Tom Patton passing along the concerns and requests from Ward 3 residents for additional assistance. I am also working with the Mayor and the administration to address storm water concerns raised by residents.

Ward 3 Quick Update May 13, 2014

Ward 3 Resident,

Last night Mother Nature was pretty nasty with two different tornado warnings and flash flooding in our area. I hope you and your family are doing ok. Even I got stuck driving home after the first tornado warning expired and had to seek shelter after the second tornado warning and flood waters made it impossible to drive home in the city. But I did try to keep residents posted with live updates on my websites Twitter and Facebook feeds at www.danlangshaw.com to communicate important safety and storm related information. If you have not registered for the city’s reverse 911 you can by clicking here.

I spoke with many Ward 3 residents throughout last night and into early hours of this morning to get them the necessary assistance they needed. I have been in contact with the Service Department and they have a list of areas throughout the ward that experienced flash flooding issues and information to safety forces on roads needing to be closed down for safety reasons during the storm.

Flash flooding can just overload our storm water system because of all the flow and debris in such a short period of time. With all the hills we have in this city, it can happen in a rare storm like last night. If you are still having storm or storm water related issues still today, please report it to the North Royalton Service Department at 440-582-3002. City crews have been working throughout the night and into day to address the large volume of residents needing assistance. If you need any additional assistance I can be reached at 440-785-4240 or by email at ward3@northroyalton.org.

For updates on current road closures check out the North Royalton Police Department Twitter page by clicking here.

Also here is a link to some information from the Northeast Ohio Red Cross on tips with dealing with home flooding click here.

Finally, I just like to thank the Police Department, Fire Department, and City Employees who have been working around the clock to help residents here in Ward 3 and throughout our city. Thank you!

Have a good day,

Dan Langshaw
