Ward 3 Quick Update May 26, 2019

Ward 3 Resident,

I have just a few quick items to update you on below this Memorial Day Weekend.

Rumpke Waste & Recycling Memorial Day Holiday Schedule
In observance of Memorial Day, just a reminder Rumpke trash and recycling collection will NOT occur on Monday May 27th. Service will be delayed one day the entire week of May 27th. This means if your regular pick-up day is Monday, it will be moved to Tuesday, Tuesday will be moved to Wednesday, etc. Rumpke will resume its normal schedule the week of June 3rd. If you have any questions, please call Rumpke at 1-800-828-8171 or Click Here for their full 2019 holiday schedule.

Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing in Ward 3
The North Royalton Fire Department has started their annual fire hydrant flushing. The Fire Department has begun flushing hydrants here in Ward 3 and will continue for the next 10 to 14 days. It may take them longer due to call volume, training, weather and other mandatory daily requirements.  Please be alert for discolored water and if it should occur, run your cold water until it is clear. Before an area is tested, residents will be notified through the city’s reverse 911 phone system called ReadyNotify. If you have not signed up for the city’s reverse 911 then Click Here to sign up now.

Columbia Gas Betterment Project (Albion to North Corporation Line)
Columbia Gas is in the process of installing a 12″ diameter gas line along Ridge Road from north of Albion Road to north of Tilby Road. This gas main will provide better pressures to portions south and west of this location for future and already expanded developments in the City. Portions of this gas main are being installed along the southbound lane of Ridge Road, while the remainder will be installed within private easements on the west side of Ridge Road that were acquired by Columbia Gas. While working in the roadway, there will be times of delays as traffic is stopped in one direction to allow traffic from the opposite direction to proceed. Please use caution while traveling through this and any construction zone. This project is anticipated to be completed in the Fall (October) 2019. Please direct any and all concerns to the Engineering Department at (440) 582-3001.

Summer Laborer Positions Available
The City of North Royalton is still hiring Summer Laborers. If you know of anyone looking for summer work especially students home from college. This might be a great opportunity for them. For more information Click Here.

Memorial Day
Memorial Day is this Monday May 27th. Please join me in giving pause and thanks for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation. Whether they fell in the Revolutionary War or the Global War on Terrorism and every war in between. They paid the ultimate price for the freedom we all enjoy today. Also consider coming out to our city’s Memorial Day Ceremony on May 27th at 9:00am at the Veterans Memorial in the North Royalton Cemetery located at 6170 Royalton Rd. Read More.
