Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

Although the holiday season is close upon us, things continue to remain relatively busy here in city government as we start to prepare for the 2020 transition with a majority of new City Council members and Mayor. I want to offer my sincere congratulations to Mayor-Elect Larry Antoskiewicz Read More and all the newly elected members of City Council that were elected in the November 5th General Election. Thank You Ward 3!

Ralph Regula one of Ohio’s longest-serving members of the United States Congress was known for his legacy of putting constituents first. He once said “It gives me a lot of satisfaction to help someone with a problem. My home telephone’s in the book. I never had an unlisted number because I think it’s important that people have access.” Like the late Congressman Regula constituent service comes first to me. I truly love what I do to help all of you residents when you need me and making a positive difference in the lives of so many Ward 3 residents and our community! My sons Henry, Derek, and I want to thank all of you for recently on November 5th electing me to serve another two-year term on City Council. It is my greatest honor to continue to serve the over 5,500 residents that call North Royalton Ward 3 home and being their voice on City Council. In 2020 I will be one of the most senior members of City Council. I am excited as a leader to use my experience and energy to work with my newly elected colleagues on Council and Mayor to do some exciting new things to move our city forward even more. In January I will be officially sworn in for my fourth elected term on City Council. Again thank you!

Have a great rest of the week!

Dan Langshaw
Ward 3 Councilman

Legislative Services Director Retirement

Our Director of Legislative Services for North Royalton City Council Laura Haller has officially retired on October 31st after 30 years of service to the City of North Royalton. I want to thank Laura so much for all she has done to help countless Ward 3 residents over the years and me to do my job. I will always treasure our friendship and how much she helped me back in 2013 during the difficult time when my friend and predecessor the late Ward 3 Councilman Don Willey passed away. Soon after I first was appointed to Council and because of Laura I was able to hit the ground running to serve our ward that I continue to have the honor to serve today! Laura you will be missed! Congrats on your retirement!

Royalton Road Widening (W. 130th  Street to York Road) Project Update
Phase 2 is being worked on to widen the south side from the City Service Center to just east of the new retaining wall. Traffic has been moved to the newly widened south side in this area.  Work will continue to widen the north side in this same area this year. Royalton Road Resurfacing (York Road to East Corporate Line)
This project is being done by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). The City has been waiting for ODOT to do the final paving for almost two months now. For whatever reason they have wait till now to finish it. After receiving a number of complaints from residents about this. I shared the concerns about this major state roadway with both our State Represenative Tom Patton and State Senator Matt Dolan that waiting this long is unacceptable given winter is almost fully upon us. They passed along these concerns to ODOT. According to representatives they reached in ODOT. The surface course was expected to be done last week, but weather did not permit. They need temperatures above 45 degrees. They will try again approximately November 16th through November 20th. If they are again unsuccessful, they will work out a plan to potentially change the asphalt mix to something that can setup in cooler temperatures. The project engineer for ODOT stated it will be done before Thanksgiving no matter what.Royalton Road Watermain Replacement (State Road to Prince Charles Drive)
